This weekend, the next race in the NASCAR Cup Series will take place at the Talladega Speedway. The Geico 500 will once again see the top teams and drivers competing for more points and prestige in the Cup Series.
To celebrate the fact, BetMGM Sportsbook has announced a special promotional offer for this weekend’s forthcoming race.
It is an insurance-based offer which means that you will get a little added protection on your bet if your selection doesn’t quite land the win in the race, but goes very close.

Geico 500 Top 3 Driver Insurance Promotion
To qualify for this offer you need to be a BetMGM customer, and you then need to make a bet on which driver will win this weekend’s Geico 500 race at Talladega.
Ordinarily, if your driver does not then go on to win the race, you would lose the bet and your stake, but as part of this offer, BetMGM are offering you the chance to win your stake back in full (up to a maximum amount of $25) if your driver finishes second or third in the race instead of first.
This is a nice simple offer that is available until 25th April at 2.00pm, so remember to get your qualifying bet on before the race starts to ensure you get this added insurance on your latest NASCAR bet.
So which driver should you back? Well, let’s take a closer look at the race this weekend starting with the latest NASCAR Cup Series Standings.
NASCAR Cup Series Standings
- Denny Hamlin (Toyota) – 434
- Martin Truex Jr. (Toyota)– 353
- Joey Logano (Ford)– 352
- William Byron (Chevrolet)– 310

- Kyle Larsen (Chevrolet)– 299
- Chase Elliott (Chevrolet)– 285

The Toyota pairing of Denny Hamlin and Martin True Jr. have amassed the most points this season, and they will start first and third on the grid respectively this weekend. Sandwiched between them in second place is Joey Logano’s Ford, with William Byron’s Chevrolet fourth on the grid.
40 cars will compete this weekend in the race.
Who Should I Back To Win The Race?
If you are looking at who to back to win the Geico 500 this weekend, then the good news is that BetMGM has odds available on all 40 drivers and the top rated prospects to win the race are outlined below:
- Hamlin +650
- Logano +900
- Blaney +1000
- Elliott +1100
- Keselowski +1100
- Almirola +1600
- Busch +1600
- Stenhouse Jr. +1600
- Bowman +1800
- Busch +1800
- Byron +2000
- Harvick +2000
It’s certainly been an unusual season in NASCAR so far, with the likes of Hamlin, Elliott, Harvick, Keselowski and Kyle Busch all without a win in the campaign and a number of races seeing longer odds winners.
That could well be the case again at Talladega this weekend, on a 2.66 mile oval track that has traditionally offered anyone in the field a chance of victory.
Denny Hamlin is due a win, but I am not convinced by those odds, so I am going to go for Kevin Harvick at +2000 as my pick to get the best out of this offer.
