Last Thursday night, the NFL released its schedule for the 2022/23 NFL Season, and franchises came up with a number of creative ways to announce the schedule to their fans (I thought the Cleveland Browns announcement was very funny!).
So, what we have done is gone through all 18 weeks of the forthcoming season and put together our picks for what should be the best game of the week and why.
And if there are any available odds for that game, we have taken them from BetMGM Sportsbook.
So, let’s kick off with a look at our pick for Week One and in truth, it is a very easy selection to make.

Week 1 – Buffalo Bills @ Los Angeles Rams
What a fantastic game to kick off the regular season, as the Super Bowl holders face the team many people feel are most likely to succeed them at the end of the season. Matt Stafford goes head-to-head with Josh Allen, with BetMGM having the Rams the slight 5/6 favourites to win the game, with the Bills a very tempting even money.
Week 2- Los Angeles Chargers @ Kansas City Chiefs
There may well be a few AFC West games in this list as it is one stacked division and the Week 2 line up between the Chargers and Chiefs edges out the Titans @ Bills clash as the game to watch in week 2. Justin Herbert against Patrick Mahomes? We’ll have a slice of that any day of the week.
Week 3 – Green Bay Packers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
If Week 2 sees a matchup between two of the new era superstar quarterbacks, Week 3 sees two of the veterans’ clash as the Packers head to the Buccaneers and Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady renew their rivalry in a game that could have big implications for the eventual top seed in the NFC.
Week 4 – Kansas City Chiefs @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
What a huge couple of weeks in Tampa as a week after Aaron Rodgers comes to town, this time it will be Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs that will provide the opposition. This is a week stacked with cracking games including the Patriots @ Packers, Titans @ Colts and Bills @ Ravens.
Week 5 – Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens
This AFC North clash could be one of the key matchups in that division as last year’s Super Bowl finalists go up against a Ravens team that have had a superb draft and free agency period and who, if they can avoid the injury hell they found themselves in last year, should be amongst the stronger teams in the AFC this season.
Week 6 – Buffalo Bills @ Kansas City Chiefs
The AFC Conference game between these two was such a hit and ended so
controversially, that it has led to a change in the overtime rule meaning both teams will have at least one possession of the ball. Mahomes v Allen between arguably the best two teams in the AFC? If it is half as good as the Conference Championship, it will be a cracker.
Week 7 – Cleveland Browns @ Baltimore Ravens
What a test for Deshaun Watson and his Cleveland Browns offense against the quality Baltimore Ravens defense. I really expect Baltimore to be very strong this season and I think Watson will be very keen to show Browns fans that he can light up a game even in the face of a strong defense. This could be one of the games of the season.
Week 8 – Green Bay Packers @ Buffalo Bills
The battle of the north will see two huge teams from two difference conferences meet head to head in Buffalo. It is going to be interesting to see what kind of shape both teams are in heading into this game with both having somewhat tricky starts to the season.
Week 9 – Los Angeles Rams @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Arguably the two best teams in the NFC will clash at the midway point of the season as the Buccaneers welcome another potential Super Bowl team to Raymond James Stadium. The Rams edged this one in the NFC Playoffs last season and this game could well be equally as close and exciting.
Week 10 – Los Angeles Chargers @ San Francisco 49ers
I’ve picked this Monday night game for my Week 10 game of the week simply because
of the potential match ups we have here. Will Deebo Samuel be on the 49ers roster? How can that 49ers defense cope with Justin Herbert and that powerful-looking Los Angeles Chargers offense with the revamped offensive line?
Week 11 – Philadelphia Eagles @ Indianapolis Colts
I’ve picked this game because I feel that these two teams could well be the ‘sleepers’ in the season who perhaps surprise a few experts to have a better season than expected. Can Matt Ryan turn the Colts into a playoff team once again? Will AJ Brown give Jalen Hurts that Number 1 receiver he needs to turn the Eagles into contenders?
Week 12 – Los Angeles Rams @ Kansas City Chiefs
Could this game be a prelude to the Super Bowl? It’s one of many potential such games in the season. These two teams look well matched on offense and defense this season and this would be my pick as the potential game of the season, if I was forced to make the pick right now.
Week 13 – Denver Broncos @ Baltimore Ravens
I am intrigued to see Russell Wilson in a Broncos uniform and to see how he plays with a team that, according to many, was just an elite quarterback away from being Super Bowl contenders. Well, they’ll get a chance to prove that here at the Baltimore Ravens, a team I feel will also be Super Bowl contenders this season.
Week 14 – Los Angeles Rams @ Las Vegas Raiders
Two franchises that have moved to new cities in recent times will meet in Las Vegas in what should be a very interesting match up. Will Davante Adams be the catalyst for the Raiders to shine in what is arguably the toughest division in the NFL? Will the Rams earn a victory against a team that still enjoys solid support in both LA and Oakland?
Week 15 – Los Angeles Rams @ Green Bay Packers
Matt Stafford and Aaron Rodgers will renew their old AFC North rivalry once again when the Rams travel North in December to take on the Packers in what is likely to be a very cold game at Lambeau Field. A big advantage for the Packers, or will the Rams come through to win?
Week 16 – Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys
If things go as expected, then I think this game may well have a significant bearing on which team wins the NFC East as I think it is likely to be one of these two franchises. The Cowboys are a strong team there’s no doubt, but I have a sneaky feeling the Eagles may be able to match them this season.
Week 17 – Buffalo Bills @ Cincinnati Bengals
This could have been the AFC Championship game last season, but the teams will instead meet in early 2023 in the penultimate weekend of the season. By this point, I’d expect both teams to be in real contention in their division and perhaps even have eyes on the top seed spot in the AFC.
Week 18 – Baltimore Ravens @ Cincinnati Bengals
There are a number of potentially great games in Week 18 but this game I feel is the most likely to have the most riding on it. I can see the Ravens and Bengals being the dominant teams in the AFC North and this game may well be the decider as to who finishes top of the division and who will have to look to the playoffs to qualify for the post-season.
