The Indianapolis Colts (1-3) have a date with destiny tonight on Monday Night Football as they take on the Baltimore Ravens (3-1) in what has become something of a key game for both teams, albeit for different reasons.
For the Ravens, it is a chance to cement their place at the top of the AFC North after both the Bengals and Browns were defeated on Sunday night. A 4-1 record would also see them join the Chargers and Bills with the best record in the AFC.
The mission for the Colts is slightly different. A 1-3 start in the AFC South isn’t quite as bad as it sounds with the 1-4 Texans and 0-5 Jaguars also in the division. A win for the Colts here would put them just one win behind the leaders, the 3-2 Tennessee Titans.
Let’s now preview tonights game a bit more closely with any odds shown provided by BetMGM Sportsbook.

Ravens Bookmakers Favorites
The Ravens are the clear favorites for tonight’s game. They are -6.5 on the spread
betting markets and 1/3 on the money line, while the Colts are 12/5 on the same money line market.
It is not hard to figure out why. The Colts sole win this season came on the road against a Miami team devoid of confidence and without its star quarterback.
The Ravens have bounced back well from their opening weekend loss to the Raiders to beat the Chiefs, Lions and Broncos in their next three, with Lamar Jackson showing across those games that he can pass the ball almost as effectively as he and the Ravens rush with it.
With Rashod Bateman, Marquise Brown, Miles Boykin offering great depth at wide receiver not to mention Ty’Son Williams and Latavius Murray at running back, the Ravens offense is as stacked as their defense.
The Colts defense is ranked 9th currently in the NFL, but they are facing a unit that has multiple dimensions and which will certainly offer them a much sterner test than any that they have faced this season.
Colts Problems On Offense
The Colts issues this season have tended to be on offense with them ranked 15th for rushing in the NFL and 27th for passing. Against a very talented Ravens defense, these units are going to be pushed to the max to offer the Colts a realistic chance of success.
Indeed, it may well be how well the Colts offense can match up against the Ravens defense, that decides the outcome of this game.
However, taking all things into consideration, it would be very surprising if the Ravens were to lose this game. Not only are they on their home field, but they have been the stronger of the two teams this season very comfortably.
They aren’t perfect, there’s been far too many missed tackles on defense at times, but across the three facets of the game, the Ravens are probably the better team and that should be proven here.
As such, I am going for the Ravens to win the game tonight and to cover that -6.5 spread.
