Red Hot Curry Too Spicy For Brooklyn Nets In Warriors Statement Win

Some things are inevitable. Thanos. The Detroit Lions being awful and you can add to that list Steph Curry putting in performances that defy belief.

In last night’s game with the NBA Finals favorites the Brooklyn Nets (10-5), in Brooklyn, the Nets were the -2.5 favourites in the game with BetRivers Sportsbook. The Warriors, despite their solid start, were thought to have benefitted from a soft schedule in the early weeks of the season.

However, after a stunning blowout win 117-99 in Brooklyn, the Golden State Warriors (12-2) still have the best record in the NBA and they have knocked off the team most experts feel will be there when the big prizes are handed out at the end of the season,

And Steph Curry remains the most potent part of what looks like another winning Warriors team.

Third Quarter Domination

After losing on Sunday against the Charlotte Hornets, the Warriors were expected to fine Tuesday’s game against the Nets another difficult encounter.

In the first half, that certainly proved to be the case. The Nets held a three point lead after a high-scoring first quarter, but by the end of the second, the Warriors had turned that deficit into a five-point lead at half time.

However, it was the third quarter which effectively decided the game, with the Warriors scoring almost double the 18 points the Nets managed in an abysmal shooting display in that quarter. By the end of the third, the Warriors were leading by 22 points.

The writing was on the wall for the Nets.

Brooklyn did cut the deficit by four in the fourth, but the damage had been done and the Warriors superb defense kept Brooklyn to just 41 points in the second half.

Superstar Kevin Durant was kept to below 20 points for the first time this season by the Warriors impressive defensive play.

MVP Chants For Curry

If the Warriors victory was built on that rock solid second half-defense, then the finesse and scoring power came from Steph Curry once again.

It has almost become routine for Curry to set new standards when he plays in games and last night, he became only the second player ever to score over 2,900 three-pointers in his career, with Ray Allen sitting atop the list with 2,973.

On a night where Curry hit 12 of 19 from the floor, including four successful step-backs from inside the centre court logo, he totalled 37 points and tied his season’s best of nine three-pointers.

Quite simply, the Nets defense could not stop him. So much so that at one point, when Curry stepped up to take a free-throw, even Nets fans were chanting “MVP” in support of the Warriors legend.

However, this was not just about Steph Curry’s brilliance. The 2021 Golden State Warriors may be reliant on their undeniable superstar, but he is assisted by a well-drilled and high-quality team around him.

13 Warriors players played five minutes or more in the game and 10 players scored points. Players from the bench, such as Damion Lee, Andre Iguodala and Jonathan Kuminga are coming in with no drop off in performance.

And with Andrew Wiggins adding 19 points and Jordan Poole 17, this Warriors team look set to be a massive threat this year.

Other Tuesday Night Games

There were key wins on Tuesday night too for the Utah Jazz (9-5) who crushed the Philadelphia 76ers (8-7) 120-85 in a very one-sided contest, with the 76ers clearly missing the injured Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid.

And in the other game, Paul George top scored with 34 points and Reggie Jackson added 21 as yje Los Angeles Clippers moved to 9-5 with a 106-92 win over the San Antonio Spurs (4-10).

The Nets are back in action later tonight as they take on the Cleveland Cavaliers (9-6) while the Warriors will also take on the Cavaliers the following night in their next game.
