The Warriors are back, but is there value in picking them at this point?
The Warriors are up 3-0 and the Heat are up 2-1. With the Western Conference all but wrapped-up, the focus shifts to the Eastern Conference Finals. Regardless of who comes out of the East, the Warriors simply have the offensive versatility and shooting to be the straight favorite in the Finals. Ball movement, solid team defense, and shooting proficiency have all improved for the Warriors as the playoffs progressed. Now, they look to be strong favorites to re-gain the crown
So, the question becomes, is there any value in betting the Warriors in the Finals before the Finals even begin? The answer is a definitive “yes”. Whenever the outcome of an NBA series become clear, there’s always a bit more value to get ahead of the odds before the next series odds are released. The same is true for this upcoming Finals.

The Heat are versatile and difficult to contain. Their plethora of playmakers and ability to protect the ball (and force turnovers on the other end) give them an edge over the Celtics. However, health is a major concern, and the Heat will be without Tyler Herro for Game 4. They are already seven point dogs for tonight’s game. Assuming the Celtics win tonight in Miami, The Celtics get the Heat at home in Game 5 and Game 7.
With Herro nursing a strained Groin and Butler dealing with knee soreness, the offensive and defensive abilities of the Heat will be compromised going forward. Now is the time to pounce and get major plus value for the Warriors in the NBA Finals. When the Finals arrive, series odds for the overall winner will likely be around -240 or worse, so the only value out there is trying to nail the exact series game count.
