It’s the weekend! And what better way to celebrate the fact than by putting together a special Friday Night NBA Parlay bet! Forget Jake Paul and his ceaseless quest to get into the headlines for whatever reason, this is the real reason we like real sport!
But before we bring you details on our special parlay for Friday night, let’s take a look back at last night’s action which produced some key results in the battle for playoff positions.
Most notable was the games in Dallas and Los Angeles. In Texas, the Mavericks found enough holes in the Nets defense to land a 113-109 victory, a move which enhances their playoff hopes, while denting Brooklyn’s chances of toppling the 76ers at the top of the Western Conference.
In the battle of Los Angeles, it was the Clippers that came out well on top, beating a depleted Lakers 118-94. That result keeps the Clippers third in the West, with the Lakers being dragged ever closer to the play in tournament for the teams finishing 7th to 10th in each conference.
All of this sets up Friday’s games rather nicely!

New Orleans Pelicans v Philadelphia 76ers – 76ers (-8.5) at -110
I’m not going to say ‘I told you so’ but I have been banging the drum about the 76ers being the real deal for some time now. I tipped them at the season start and I am not changing my opinion here. Joel Embiid is a beast and while Zion Williamson is equally important for the Pelicans, he does not have as strong a supporting cast.
The Sixers are just a couple of games away now from clinching the Eastern Conference and I can’t see them slipping up here, even with a big -8.5 spread against them. I’d take that rather than the shorter moneyline odds offered on a straight win for the 76ers.
Boston Celtics v Chicago Bulls – Celtics -157
Are the Boston Celtics starting to find some form? They have won three of their last four games with Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker playing starring roles. Those wins have moved the Celtics back up to sixth in the Eastern Conference table, just ahead of the charging Miami Heat who are making a late run at the playoffs.
The Bulls have not had the best season and have won just one of their last five. Not even the talentes of Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic have been able to improve things for Chicago this season. Those two will keep it close with the Celtics, but I am backing Boston to just take the win.
Denver Nuggets v Utah Jazz – Nuggets +120
What an intriguing game we have in prospect here. Alongside the Mavs, the Nuggets have the best record over the past ten games in the West, winning eight of those games. They are half a game behind the Clippers in third and four behind the Jazz at the top of the table.
After a sticky run of defeats, the Jazz have bounced back to win their last three, which makes this a very interesting game indeed. Usually, I’d never back against the team with the best record in the NBA, but something tells me that the Nuggets match up well against the Jazz here and I am going to take them to land something of an upset win.
New York Knicks v Phoenix Suns – Knicks +205
Both of these teams have excellent records over their last ten games, with the Suns 7-3 and the Knicks 8-2. The Suns got the better of the two teams when they met on 27th April, earning a 118-110 win, to inflict a relatively rare defeat on the Knicks and they will be confident of a repeat performance here.
However, they were well beaten by the Hawks yesterday and I think the Knicks will be itching for revenge after that narrow defeat a few weeks back. As such, I am backing this one to go down to the wire and I am backing the Knicks to land the win, just!
Los Angeles Lakers v Portland Trail Blazers – Trail Blazers -250
Fresh from their defeat to the Clippers, the Lakers now face a crunch game against the Trail Blazers, with both teams sharing a 37-29 record and in 6th and 7th sport in the Western Conference. Anthony Davis should have recovered from back spasms that affected him in the game with the Clippers to start here for the Lakers, but several other first choice stars will be absent.
The Trail Blazers have won five of their last six, coting no fewer than 128 points in any of those wins, their one defeat coming against the in form Atlanta Hawks. With so much on the line and their form being so much better, you have to fancy Portland to inflict yet more misery on Lakers fans here.
If you were to place this Parlay bet with DraftKings Sportsbook at the odds shown, then you would get +2843 on this five-selection bet.
That would be a nice way to kick off the weekend!
