Kyrie Nets Brooklyn A Narrow Victory Over The Clippers

Kyrie Irving produced a superb 39 point, 5 rebounds, 2 block performance to be the impetus behind Brooklyn Nets closely fought 124-120 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.

In what was a high-quality game that ebbed back and forth throughout the four quarters, it was Irving’s 39 points, allied to 28 for Kevin Durant and 23 from the returning James Harden that played a key role in the Nets win.

Kawhi Leonard hit 33 in return for the Clippers, who drop to 16-6 on the season and also down one place to second in the Western Conference. Their place at the top of the conference taken by the Utah Jazz.

The Jazz beat the Pistons 117-105 to climb above the Clippers.

In contrast to that, the Nets move up to second in the Eastern Conference, one win behind the 76ers, but having played four games more than the Philadelphia team.

Irving Performance Amazes Even Clippers Fans

While Harden and Durant played supporting roles, it was the play of Irving which drew most acclaim from those watching on between two of the top teams in the NBA.

He hit 15/23 field goals and six out of eight three pointers in the win but it was his play in general throughout the game both on defense and in working openings for others, that also caught the eye.

So much so, one Clippers fan felt moved to tweet.

While Kyrie was undoubtedly the star of the show, the fact that the Nets triumvirate of Irving, Durant and Harden combined for 90 points in the game will enthuse their fans as they head into the midway point of the regular season.
