This is a fantastic offer, especially if you are a big golf fan as the US Open is one of the stellar tournaments of the year and always attracts plenty of bets to that outright winner market.

Let’s take a quick look now at the tournament and who the golfers are to back in it.

US Open 2021 Tournament Preview

The 2021 US Open Golf Tournament takes place at the famous Torrey Pines South Course in San Diego, California. Starting on the 17th June and running through until the 20th, Bryson DeChambeau will be back to try and claim back to back victories in the tournament, something his nemesis Brooks Koepka achieved back in 2017 and 2018.

It is the first time since 2008 that the tournament has ventured back to Torrey Pines. That year, Tiger Woods was the winner, landing his third and most recent US Open success.

American players have dominated the event in recent years with the last non-American winner coming in 2014 when Martin Kaymer of Germany won at Pinehurst. Since then Jordan Spieth, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka (twice), Gary Woodland and Bryson DeChambeau have claimed victories.

No player has ever won the US Open more than four times (Willie Anderson, Bobby Jones, Ben Hogan and Jack Nicklaus all sharing that honor) and of the current field set to compete at Torrey Pines, Brooks Koepka will be the only multiple winner of the event with Tiger Woods absent.

Torrey Pines is a 7685 yard par 71 course which features a tough closing four holes, including a 568 par five last hole which could well see plenty of drama on Sunday afternoon.

Who Could I Back As The Winner?

If you are looking for a potential winner of the US Open to back with your qualifying bet for this offer, then Jon Rahm is the +1000 favorite with BetRivers PA at the moment, ahead of a trio of US players in DeChambeau, Dustin Johnson and Xander Schauffele who are all +1400.

Brooks Koepka and Jordan Spieth are both +1800 with Patrick Cantlay and. Tony Finau sitting alongside Rory McIlroy at +2000.

Picking a winner of a golf major is never easy but I am backing the US dominance of this event to continue and if I was going to place a $25 bet on someone to win the event, I would be backing Xander Schauffele at +1400 as he has been consistently excellent for a long time now and he is overdue a Major success.
