WSOP 2020 has been rescheduled for the fall

On Monday, the World Series of Poker officially announced that the 2020 WSOP will be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic with a targeted rescheduling for the fall of 2020. The 51st WSOP had been slated to get underway on May 26th.

Ty Stewart, Executive Director of the World Series of Poker said the series still has all intentions of playing this year. “We are committed to running the World Series of Poker this year but need additional time to proceed on our traditional scale while prioritizing guest and staff well-being.”

Despite the postponement, this summer won’t be completely without WSOP events. WSOP bracelet events will still be held online with 14 tournaments scheduled from May 31st to July 12th. The WSOP said on Monday that it intends to further expand the number of events.
