Casinos around the country are re-opening! But is it too soon? We have that story, plus the latest winners of the WSOP-Circuit Series online and a new interview with “Miami” John Cernuto. You can find all those stories and more in this – the weekend edition of the Hit and Run.
iwant2win Wins Fourth Event of WSOP Online Circuit Series
All the poker tournament action is still online. And one of the big winners this weekend was “iwant2win,” who took down Event #4: the $150,000 GTD Online Finale Big 500 3x Re-entry for a nice win of $52,224!
The WSOP.com Online Finale Circuit Series features a total of 12 events just like most WSOP-C stops. All the pre-lims lead up to the big $500 300k event on June 14.
Of course several notables played, and some of the ones that cashed were “Matt “RubberFist” Stout (37th place), James “pokercpa” Hoeppner (45th place), Jed “jchak” Hoffman (47th place), Ryan “WHOSYOURDODD” Dodd (71st place) and Jesse James “Mrjessejames” Sylvia (99th place).”

-There was a lot of good content out there this weekend! And one article that we liked a lot was from Mo Nuwwarah over at PokerNews. Mo wrote about “Seven Great Hands from the Super High Roller Bowl Online Heads Up.” Not everyone saw the match, so if you want to see breakdowns of some of the sickest hands from Justin Bonomo and Michael Addamo, check it out.
-Meanwhile PartTimePoker’s own David Huber talks about the reaction to several casinos having a limited re-opening across the country. David writes, “Land-based casino re-openings in several U.S. states have poker players and fans scratching their heads this weekend following unmasked gatherings at Las Vegas casinos (and in metropolitan areas throughout the country) that seemingly ignore “social distancing” practices that have been widely promoted for monthsas a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
-The HendonMob’s all-time cashes leader is none other than ‘Miami’ John Cernuto. And “Card Player recently spoke to Cernuto about how he found his way to poker, the tournament scene of the ‘80s, how he got his nickname, his longevity in the game, and more.”
-The World Poker Tour has recently been taking their talents online, and the WPT and PartyPoker series recently concluded this week. Read about how “the World Poker Tour® and partypoker have concluded the largest event series in partypoker history. The WPT® Online Series set numerous records, including the most single-event entries in WPT Main Tour and WPTDeepStacks history.”
-And finally, we’d be complete fools if we didn’t include the latest article from ‘Crazy’ Robbie Strazy and his blog CardPlayerLifestyle.com. This week Tim Duckworth writes about how Las Vegas was completely transformed during quarantine over the last couple weeks. It’s a great read talking about when the lights go out.

-Over at PokerNews they hopped on the Zoom Meetup bandwagon. Chad and Sarah And Jeff were joined by various members of the 2010 November Nine! “Find out what players were thinking during some of the pivotal hands, what they are doing now and a little tribute to Soi Nguyen who passed before the reunion:”
-And just a reminder, various members of the WPT team will be streaming online action all week long. So tune in to catch either Matt Savage, Tony Dunst, Vince Van Patten, or Lynn Gilmartin playing some cards:
That’s all for this week! Keep coming back every day to PartTimePoker for your daily updates on all the action in the poker world.
