Daniel Negreanu and Doug Polk returned for Day 27 for their heads-up challenge match on Wednesday with Negreanu hoping to make it six straight winning sessions.
The pair conveyed on Wednesday at 5:30 PM ET, playing 600 hands over three hours.
Unfortunately for Negreanu, it wasn’t lucky seven, as Polk put together a six-figure comeback session on Wednesday, finishing up $119,609.84 for the day and increasing his lead to $603,683.77. In taking home the big win, Polk nearly erased all of Negreanu’s gains from Monday.
The good news is that Negreanu has finished ahead in 7 out of the last 9 sessions and continues to play well, with Doug Polk even admitting that he is playing at a level “that is a night and day better” than when the match began.
I gotta say @RealKidPoker is playing just night and day better than at the start of the challenge. I still think I have the edge but I wouldn't be surprised if its pretty low at this point. Gotta give credit where credit is due.

With 15,850 or so hands in the books, poker fans are hoping that the last 10,000 hands — and roughly one month of play — is as entertaining as much as the first two months have been.

If you missed Wednesday’s session, watch a reply of the match from Joey Ingram, who was joined by Landon Tice for the three-hour session:
In the post-game interview, Negreanu noted that some bad memories came back from last month.
“It felt like the first half . Things went really well for five sessions in a row. In this one, he made so many f**king hands.”
Although Negreanu managed to go up against a disproportionate number of flushes, he acknowledged that he ran well in an area that he struggled during the first half.
“It was a weird session; thankfully, I did really well on all-in pots.”
For Doug Polk, he voiced his approval of his first big winning session of 2021 before diving into some notable hands from the day:
