Weekend Hit and Run: Mateos Wins Again, Mid-Stakes Day Twos, and Super High Roller Bowl Highlights

Adrian Mateos continues to dominate at year’s end. Mid-stakes events are seeing big numbers and big day twos, and watch some of the sickest hands from the Super High Roller Bowl Bahamas. It’s all here and more in the weekend edition of the Hit and Run.

Adrian Mateos Wins €10k EPT Prague

The man is simply on fire. Just weeks after winning the partypoker Bahamas Main Event, Adrian Mateos is back and has taken down the 2019 PokerStars EPT Prague2019 Event #1 for a cool €177,500.

Mateos began heads-up play with a 2:1 chip lead and never looked back, defeating Anton Yakuba who had to settle for €128,400.

Mid Stakes Tours See Huge Action

It’s Day Two Action everywhere for all the mid-stakes grinders!

-The RunGood Poker Series has returned to Kansas city for one of their famous $500 events. A solid field of 482 players found the time for this event, and at the time of this writing only 15 remain. Andy Ernstein is the chip leader with a respectable 1,200,000 in chips. All players have their eyes on that $52k first place prize. Come back to PTP tomorrow to see where everyone ended up.

-The MidStakes Poker Tour (MSPT) is currently running its Season X finale. This big event held at Canterbury Park saw a whopping 802 players plop down the $1,100 entry fee for a chance at poker glory. Just 13 are left at the moment with Aaron Johnson leading the way. He’s got 2.3 milly in chips. First place in this one is solid – $155,000. Who will make the final table? We’ll let you know tomorrow.

-The WSOP Circuit Main Event is also underway at Harrah’s Cherokee. These event always get big numbers, and this year exactly 1,000 players on the nose entered. Only 32 are left with Dan Lowery leading the way. First in this one ain’t playing around. It’s $260,000. Come back here tomorrow to see what lucky souls made Day Three.

-And finally… the WSOP Circuit isn’t done yet! There’s a huge event going down Down Under. The WSOP International Circuit $2,200 Main Event is currently at its final table! Only nine remain playing for that circuit ring, and also that insane $410,264 top prize! This one will be fun.

Chris Moneymaker was there to hand out the pass personally, and Gaviño was all smiles afterwards saying, “This victory is the best thing that has happened in my life. So far I had not lived anything like it.”
