High Stakes Poker Set To Return On December 16th – Guess Who Will Be Coming Back

The relaunch of High Stakes Poker is just around the corner as Poker Central revealed that new episodes would premier starting on December 16th on PokerGo, a subscription-based service of poker content.

Tom Dwan also recently posted a video from the High Stakes Poker set while playing with big stacks. Phil Hellmuth, Jason Koon and Phil Ivey are among those seated at the game. Other questions remain including many poker players whether popular host Gabe Kaplan will be returning.

PokerGo growing High Stakes Poker

High Stakes Poker was purchased in February 2020 by Poker Central. Since the purchase, its PokerGo brand has been airing old episodes through its subscription service. Clips have also been posted on the PokerGo YouTube channel.

When the deal was announced, they also revealed that new episodes would be in the works “in the coming months” although the current health climate likely delayed that for a bit. They originally stated that games episodes would PokerGo has been spitting out a variety of original content including High Stakes Duel, Hand Histories, Dead Money, and Stories from the Felt, to name a few.

The streaming platform has also broadcast major tournament events live including the World Series of Poker, the US Poker Open, Poker Masters, and World Poker Tour.

High Stakes Poker of course was one of the premier live poker shows to come out of the mid-2000s post-Moneymaker boom. It ran for six seasons from 2006 to 2011, first on the Game Show Network and then on n3D.

It featured appearances by many of the top pros of the time including many legends such as Phil Hellmuth, Barry Greenstein, Antonio Esfandiari, Daniel Negreanu and Doyle Brunson. Buy-ins for the cash games ranged from a minimum of $100,000 up to $500,000 by the 4th season. The episodes were popular with poker fans due to its real atmosphere and let letting players do their thing.
