High Stakes Poker Welcomes Back Familiar Hosts For New Season

“The biggest game in town is back,” said an instantly recognizable to all poker fans of a certain age. Indeed, the good news keeps coming for longtime fans of High Stakes Poker as PokerGo finally revealed the hosts of the latest season of the iconic poker show.

Not only will a brand new season debut on December 16th, with some of poker’s biggest names, but the show just announced that it will be welcoming back beloved hosts Gabe Kaplan and A.J. Benza. Both commentators originally appeared on the show for various stints from 2006 to 2011 (Kaplan for seasons 1-6 and Benza for Seasons 1-5).

Introduced to poker fans through a trailer for the new season, Bellande said best in the opening: “I can already picture Gabe Kaplan with that dope voice saying “and on tonight’s episode we will see our first million-dollar pot of the new season.”

Additional recognizable faces were also shown in the trailer, including a selection of clips highlighting the trademark casual banter between the players. In addition to some of the names that have already been revealed such as Phil Hellmuth, Bryn Kenney, Tom Dwan, Phil Ivey, Brandon Adams, we can see highlights of Doug Polk and other players.

PokerGo said that poker fans can watch for more player announcements on their Twitter timeline.

PokerGo is the new home of High Stakes Poker

After 10 years, High Stakes Poker is set to make its triumphant return on December 16th at 8 PM ET. The show will be available exclusively on PokerGo with new episodes each week. Unlike the first High Stakes Poker, you will need a subscription to tune in.

Poker fans can sign-up here for a subscription to PokerGO, which is also home to highly acclaimed shows such as Poker After Dark, and High Stakes Duel. They also host broadcasts of many major events including the Poker Masters, Super High Roller Bowl, World Poker Tour and World Series of Poker bracelet events.

The channel also features classic episodes of some of the best poker television over the last twenty years. After subscribing, you will also be able to watch old broadcasts of High Stakes Poker, as well all your World Series of Poker favorites from years past.

A subscription to PokerGO is available for $10 per month or $99 her year.

Kaplan a fan favorite

Ever since the show was announced earlier this year, poker fans had been lobbying for the return of the former hosts, who were nearly as much a part of the show as the huge pots and big names. Kaplan, who is perhaps most well known to the general public as starring in The 1970s show, Welcome Back Kotter.

He earned his chops in the poker scene with early World Series of Poker and Super Bowl of Poker appearances. Kaplan parlayed his poker reputation into a host of High Stakes Poker.

Given the clamoring of the return of Kaplan and Benza over the last year, the news was predictably well-received:

See Gabe Kaplan and many of your old High Stakes Poker friends on December 16th on PokerGo.
