Global Poker Awards Announce Winners!
The Global Poker Awards were once again a huge success this year with many grateful winners crowned!
Kristen Bicknell won the GPI Female Player of the Year award for the third year in a row while here boyfriend Alex Foxen took GPI POY for the second straight year. incredible. Joey Ingram claimed two awards for his work on the Mike Postle investigation. He took home Media Content: Video, and he also claimed the award for Journalist of the Year. Congrats, Papi!
Sam Trickett Wins PartyPoker $25k for $435,000!
He’s back! Sam Trickett had stepped away from poker for a couple years, but he’s back in the winner’s circle with a strong performance in Event #2 of the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Super High Roller Series in Sochi. Trickett defeated a field of 58 and a beastly final table that included Phil Ivey, Timothy Adams, and Adrian Mateos.

-Over at the OG CardPlayer, Greg Raymer has a message to all those thinking about turning poker into a full time profession: Don’t quit your day job! Raymer goes on to say that he doesn’t think quitting your job or dropping out of school and turning pro is a good idea at all. And he goes on to explain why in his latest article.
-Meanwhile, Paul Seaton and PokerCentral have a fun article about poker players that used to play tennis. And tennis players that now play poker! Patrik Antonius, Gus Hansen, Rafael Nadal! It’s an article you have to read to believe! Not really, but it’s nice though. Check it out.
-PokerStars had a great debut in Pennsylvania, but according to Michael Gentile, the company hit a bit of a snag in January. Per the article: “PokerStars PA, currently the only online poker operator in the state of Pennsylvania, reported $2.2 million in revenue for the month of January, according to figures provided by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. In just its third month of operation in the state, PokerStars PA saw revenue decline on a monthly basis for the first time. Coming off the nearly $2.5 million generated in December 2019, the first full month of operation in Pennsylvania, revenue at PokerStars dropped nearly 13% in the opening month of 2020.”
-And finally over on the World Poker Tour’s website, Tony Dunst blogs about how he’s going to spend over 55k in just tournament entries in the month of March! Good luck, Mr. Bond.
