Anticipated High Stakes Feud “Pause” at 12,500 Hands
Wednesday’s High Stakes Feud Round #21 cast on GGPoker featured select quotes from both Daniel Negreanu and Doug Polk that strongly suggest:
- The action will “pause” on December 28th at 12,500 hands — resulting in an abbreviated session
- The action will resume in 2021 — meaning there likely will be a “second half” to the grudge match
“I’m hopeful that if we do get the vaccines soon enough, maybe we can take 200 hands and play them on the second half of the match. ‘If’ the second half of the match happens. You never know, right? -Daniel (5:40:12)
“We talk about the ‘halfway’ point. I don’t know if people realize this? We’re like 300 hands away… or something like that. We’re going to have to figure out with WSOP the exact number.” -Doug (5:40:50)
“We’re basically there. The next session would be an hour or two, and then we’ll be at the halfway point.” -Doug (5:41:06)
“So I’ll ask both of you since we’re effectively at the halfway point… as we move into the second half of the High Stakes Feud.” -Jeff Platt (5:41:26)
“If I run well going into the second half, there’s no reason why I can’t win the second half of the match… theoretically, I could do the same thing on the second half.” -Daniel (5:44:51)
* Doug Polk currently leads the High Stakes Feud by approximately $810,000 after 12,200 hands.
