Could A Casino ‘Party Plane’ Business Model Take Off?

Could a casino ‘party plane’ idea spark innovation in two industries?

And could such a concept result in poker’s first-ever ‘airborne’ live MTT?

If Valuetainment creator Patrick Bet-David gets his way, poker players might soon have an opportunity to enjoy all the amenities of a Hooters-style casino while traveling on select U.S. interstate flights. {50:21-51:59}

“What if on a flight now, airlines try to figure out a way to have a casino on the flight? That’s a business model! What if airlines can now get approval to have ‘on the flight’ gambling going on? What if there’s a deal? What if there’s a poker tournament going on, on a flight?” Patrick Bet-David

Time ‘Flies’ When You’re Having Fun?

According to Bet-David, a long interstate flight could represent an opportunity for an airline to distinguish itself as a caterer to high-end, entertainment-seeking travelers.

The poker tournaments could even pay out a $1,000 prize to the winner.

“A five-hour flight feels like ten minutes! That’s how you would sell it!”

Airborne Poker Tournaments Best Marketed as Private Events?

The notion of an “18-and-over” luxury flight featuring scantily-clad servers, booze, and gambling might hit the spot for niche markets. However, it might likewise require a painstaking ‘party plane’ re-purposing process to make way for live poker tables, casino-style slot machines, table games, high roller customers, and highly trained staff.

There’s also an issue of states currently coordinating licensed online gambling activities through land-based geographical restrictions that have yet to extend to U.S. airspace.

Innovative and Sound Business Model or Too Much Hassle?

Although casinos (and maritime poker tournaments) have been a part of cruises for nearly two decades, airlines haven’t organized such events. At least not publicly.

Would airborne casinos and poker tournaments be a successful venture for airlines?

Or will the ‘party plane’ concept fail to take off?
